Insurance for home and family at up to 20% off for Finnish Dental Association members
As a Finnish Dental Association member, you can get discounts on your new home and family insurance policies for up to three years. Your family members may also be covered by the insurance policies. Insurance for home and family includes home insurance, legal expenses insurance, general liability insurance, health insurance, living allowance insurance, continuous travel insurance, valuables insurance and small boat insurance.
Comprehensive motor vehicle insurance for one year –20%
Comprehensive motor vehicle insurance is an optional car insurance policy. You will be compensated against various panelling and glass losses and can be sure to receive help quickly.
As a member of Finnish Dental Association, you get 20% off your car’s comprehensive motor vehicle insurance premiums during the first 12 months. This applies to a new Super Motor Insurance and Standard Motor Insurance for a car or van in private use, and a new Maxi Motor Insurance policy for a campervan or caravan. After the discounted year, the insurance policy will continue at normal price.
45% increase on life insurance free of charge
We offer Finnish Dental Association members and their spouses living in the same household a cost-free 45% increase in the amount of life insurance benefit. This benefit applies to new insurances and the amount of life insurance benefit must be between EUR 10,000 and 50,000. The amount of the cost-free increase will be confirmed annually, and this 45% increase will be valid in 2023.

The automatic insurance cover for the Finnish Dental Association’s members includes the following:
- Professional liability and legal expenses insurance
- Insurance cover for permanent disability caused by an occupational disease
- Organisational insurance
As a member of the Finnish Dental Association, you can take out patient insurance through the association, whereby the insurance premium is lower than for insurances taken out individually.
Professional liability and legal expenses insurance
Legal expenses insurance compensates criminal cases and civil actions that are related to the insured person’s employment relationship or work as a civil servant. The association’s written consent for the use of the insurance is a prerequisite for using the insurance cover.
General liability insurance provides cover for any indemnification liability which may be imposed on the insured person as a licensed dentist or under the decree on health care professionals, when the insured person, in his/her work as a dentist, causes material damage or bodily injury to a person who is not a patient. General liability insurance also covers medical treatment expenses for prosthetic dentistry treatment carried out and travel costs incurred by the patient in relation to such treatment, when the patient’s denture, based on odontologically evaluated grounds, is defective due to a reason attributable to the dentist as his/her fault. However, the insurance will not cover any costs related to implant prosthodontics.
Permanent disability caused by an occupational disease
Under the insurance, a lump-sum compensation will be paid to a licensed dentist who is permanently unable to work as a dentist due to an occupational disease. Permanent disability refers to a decision provided by the insurance company handling the pension matter concerning the granting of a permanent disability pension or rehabilitation aiming to a new profession.
Organisational insurance
Organisational insurance covers members of the organisation and employees in organisational duties and at organisational events. Organisational duties include meetings of the union and associations, training events, summer events and trips. Members are covered by traveller’s and luggage insurance and secondary comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
The members of the Finnish Dental Association can take out patient insurance through the association, whereby the insurance premium is lower than for insurances taken out individually.
The Finnish Dental Association’s members working as a licensed doctor or dental student in the role of an independent entrepreneur or a shareholder of a company or in the service of a private company or institution are covered. In addition, the tasks of dental nurses, specialised dental nurses and dental hygienists in relation to the above-mentioned operations are covered.
Patient insurance can be obtained as a member’s benefit provided that all membership fees due have been paid.

Small boat insurance
Boat insurance provides comprehensive cover for your small boat for accidents or damage occurring afloat or in the harbour. The insurance covers your boat for damage caused by collision, storm or vandalism, as well as for damage during transportation or when docking. In addition, boat insurance always includes a liability and legal expenses insurance, in which those insured include the boat owner, holder and driver.
Living allowance insurance
Living allowance insurance provides financial coverage for you and those close to you if you are injured or die accidentally. The policy is also valid when you travel or do sports.
