What credit limit will I get?
Factors that affect the credit limit granted to you include your income, your existing debts and your financial balance. If your current income covers your expenses well and you have a good credit history, you can apply for a higher credit limit. Based on your information, our system will generate a credit decision for you in just a few minutes.
Is a credit limit increase subject to a charge? Does a higher credit limit increase the price of my card?
A credit limit increase is free of charge. A higher credit limit doesn’t affect the price of your card.
You need to pay at least the minimum payment per month for the credit you have used. On OP's Visa and OP Duo cards, the minimum payment is determined on the basis of the outstanding balance. The minimum payment is 2% of the outstanding balance on the billing date or at least 30.00 euros. If you have applied for the credit after 1 December 2021, the minimum repayment accounts for 3% of the outstanding balance. As the outstanding balance decreases, so will the minimum payment.
What happens during the application process?
In the application form, we ask you to provide information on your finances that is relevant for granting credit. Be prepared to enter information on, for example, your current gross income and any debts you may have.
When you apply for a higher credit limit, we will also check your credit history from Suomen Asiakastieto Oy’s credit data file.
What if my credit limit request is too high?
If we cannot grant you the credit limit you have applied for in full, the credit decision you receive will include our proposal for the highest possible credit limit that you can get. If you approve our proposal, it will be activated as the new credit limit for your card.
What is the card’s credit limit all about?
The credit limit means the maximum credit facility of your card. If, for example, your credit limit is 5,000 euros, you can use a maximum of 5,000 euros of the card’s credit facility to buy products or services. Credit will again be available to you as you repay your credit.
For OP’s credit cards, you can select a credit limit ranging from 2,000 to 20,000 euros, depending on the card and your needs and financial circumstances.
