Answer: The damage is covered by fire and natural phenomena cover included in MyHome Insurance
Pohjola MyHome Insurance always comes with fire and natural phenomena cover. As Matt and Ashley have opted for insurance for their detached house that covers both the building as well as movable property, their home insurance covers both the damage to the home’s structures and window as well as the laptop computer.
Good to know
Pohjola MyHome Insurance fire and natural phenomena cover compensates damage caused by a sudden and unforeseeable gale, tornado, thundercloud downdraft or similar exceptionally strong wind or gust of wind. The deductible for the cover is between 150 to 1,000 euros. As our owner-customer, you are entitled to a deductible benefit of 250 euros for the cover, which means that your deductible may even be waived entirely.
The insurance covers standard fixed structures in the yard as well as root cellars, open shelters, light-built structures and buildings with a floor area of up to 12 m2, with the exception of sauna buildings. The insurance also covers movable property in the yard, such as outdoor furniture. However, storm damage to jetties and shoreline buildings and structures is not covered.
