Confirming call details on OP-mobile and OP Business mobile

Confirm your security during a call.

As a user of OP’s mobile app, you can now identify yourself for Customer Service during a phone call to confirm that you’re really speaking to an expert from an OP cooperative bank, Pohjola Insurance or the OP Life Assurance Company. When you identify yourself, you’ll see the time of the call and the other party’s details on OP-mobile or OP Business mobile. At the same time, we’ll confirm that we’re speaking to the right customer.

Confirmation of call details works on OP’s mobile apps when using OP's user IDs. In other words, you cannot confirm call details on your computer browser.

You can download OP-mobile and OP Business mobile onto a phone or tablet from App Store or Google Play Store. Make sure that you are using the latest version of the app.

How to confirm a call and identify yourself for Customer Service

When you are in a phone call with us, the OP expert may suggest – or you might request – that you identify yourself and confirm the call details. You can then identify yourself for Customer Service as follows:

  1. Keep the call going and open OP-mobile or OP Business mobile. Do not log in.
  2. Without logging in, on the homepage select Help and settings – Customer Service – Identify yourself for Customer Service. If you have logged into OP-mobile, select Customer info – Customer Service – Identify yourself for Customer Service.
  3. You’ll now be able to see who you have called or who is calling, and what the call is about.
  4. If the details match the ongoing phone call, confirm your identification for Customer Service.
  5. Return to the ongoing phone call.

When we call you, the call will typically concern a message you have sent us or something topical about your use of our services.

Be suspicious if, during a phone call, someone asks you to tell them your online bank user identifiers, passwords or, for example, your card number. A genuine bank or authority would never ask for such information. During a phone call, we would never send you a request to confirm payments or logins to the op.fi service. Only confirm transactions which you have initiated yourself.

If you suspect that you are in a call with a fraudster, hang up and call OP Customer Service at 0100 0500 (personal customers) or 0100 05151 (corporate customers). You can also message us on OP's digital services, chat with us (in Finnish) or visit an OP cooperative bank branch.
