The change in confirming online purchases is based on the EU’s Payment Services Directive (PSD2), which entered into force in September 2019 regarding strong customer identification. The transition period of the law for online payments with cards ended at the end of 2020. The change applies to online purchases with cards and card payments through mobile apps. We are now also offering Mobile key as an identification method for those customers who have the K-Plussa Maksuaika card or OP-Visa Business Card but don’t have OP’s user ID.
At store checkouts, you can continue to pay with your card, using your PIN or contactless payment.
