Iidamari Ahonen (born in 2003) began her violin studies under Nikolai Fadeev at the Tampere Music Conservatory. At present she studies at the Helsinki Music Conservatory under Petri Aarnio.
Iidamari Ahonen was awarded the 1st prize in the international Kaunas Sonorum 2013 competition in Lithuania, in the Giovani Musicisti 2014 violin competition in Italy and in the Juhani Heinonen violin competition in the age group 13-15-year-olds in 2019. In 2013, she was awarded 3rd prize in the string instrument category in the Noor Muusik competition in Tallinn and the 3rd prize in the Concours Grumiaux violin competition in Belgium in 2015. She was awarded the 2nd prize at the Juhani Heinonen violin competition in 2016.
Iidamari has performed as a soloist with the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra (Young soloist 2014), TASO (2015 and 2018), Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra (Young soloist 2016), Tampere Conservatoire Orchestra (2017) and Pyynikki Symphony Orchestra (2018), among others. She has played in several concerts together with pianist Naoko Shibayama-Aarnio and performed with numerous chamber music orchestras.
