Lars-Gunnar Nordström was one of the absolute pioneers of Finnish geometric painting or concrete art. His production comprises paintings, sculptures and graphics.

A common factor in all his works is a composition based on the basic forms – the triangle, circle and square. Clarity, brightness and absoluteness form a whole that resembles modern jazz, for which Lars-Gunnar Nordström had a great passion.

The artist once said about his works that one should focus on the generic characteristics of form, colour and line and be free of all sentimentality.
