Mergers and a name change in our mutual funds

We are streamlining our fund portfolio by merging mutual funds with similar investment policies.

OP Fund Management Company Ltd’s Board of Directors has decided to merge certain funds and change the name of one fund. Given the similarity of the merging funds' current investment policies, the mergers are justified from the perspective of unitholders.

The mergers will take place in four parts:

  • The OP-Japan Stars fund will be merged into the OP-Japan fund on 12 September 2024.
  • The OP-High Yield America fund will be merged into the OP-High Yield fund on 19 September 2024.
  • The OP-Inflation-linked Bond fund will be merged into the OP-Bond Yield fund on 26 September 2024.
  • The OP-EMD Local Currency special common fund and OP-EMD Hard Currency Corporate IG fund will be merged into the OP-EMD Hard Currency Sovereign fund on 26 September 2024. At the same time, the OP-EMD Hard Currency Sovereign fund will be renamed the OP-Emerging Fixed Income Market fund.

These mergers will not have any tax implications for unitholders. If a unitholder redeems their fund units or switches them to another fund, this may result in taxable capital gains or losses.

How unitholders are notified of the changes

We will notify unitholders of the mergers and the name change by letter or an online message on the op.fi service and OP-mobile during the weeks 32–34 (5 August–23 August). We will also announce the mergers and amendments to fund rules in Helsingin Sanomat on 8 August 2024.
