OP Uusimaa is offering summer jobs in local associations to 500 young people aged 15 to 17. The support for employing a single young person is 500 euros. Summer jobs offered by local associations are now published on OP Uusimaa's website, and young people can apply for the jobs in the Summer Jobs Paid for by OP campaign until 28 March.

For many people aged 15–17, the summer job attained through the campaign is their first experience of working life.

"In addition to important summer job experience, young people learn how to manage their own finances by receiving their first salary from their summer job. Managing one’s spending and personal finances is a key life skill because taking care of one’s personal finances is constantly growing in importance. Financial literacy provides a good foundation for adulthood," says Hanna Korhonen, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications at OP Uusimaa.

With the campaign, OP Uusimaa also wants to support associations operating in Uusimaa. According to Hanna Korhonen, the bank’s donation aims to support associations financially when steeply rising costs are a threat to their financial situation, and many forms of support provided by society to the non-profit sector are declining.

Associations use the donations by OP cooperative banks to hire young people aged 15 to 17 for two-week summer jobs. The application period for the summer jobs is from 3 until 28 March 2025. Young people apply for summer jobs by contacting an association, and the association is responsible for all employer obligations related to the job. When an association hires a young person, OP donates two weeks’ wages (EUR 500) to the association.

In the Summer Jobs Paid for by OP campaign, OP cooperative banks across Finland are donating more than 1.4 million euros to support youth summer employment by non-profit associations.
