OP Uusimaa Sustainability and ESG
Sustainability is an essential part of OP Uusimaa’s business and strategy. Our sustainability work is based on our mission and values.
In line with our mission, we promote the sustainable prosperity, wellbeing, safety and sustainable financial success of our customers and operating region. The core values guiding our operations are people first, responsibility and succeeding together.
OP Uusimaa's sustainability actions are based on the three themes of OP Financial Group's sustainability programme: Climate and the environment; People and communities; and Corporate governance.
A Better Tomorrow project
In May 2023, we launched a significant new sustainability project. The aim of the project is to support the themes important to the owner-customers of the bank: ensuring biodiversity; mitigating the impacts of climate change; and supporting the health and wellbeing of young people.
Our partners in this undertaking are the Uusimaa Regional Chapter of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation and the Association of Friends of the University Children's Hospitals.

Financial literacy for the young and digital skills for older people
We are actively working to ensure that our bank's customers have equal opportunities to take care of their personal finances. Guidance on the use of digital services is part of all our customer encounters.
We are involved in teaching financial literacy with many educational institutions and sports clubs. We teach financial skills to more than 1,200 young people every year.
Summer Jobs Paid for by OP
OP Uusimaa supports the employment of young people in the Summer Jobs Paid for by OP campaign. We are enabling summer jobs for 500 young people aged 15 to 17. Nearly 200 non-profit associations all over the Uusimaa region are participating in the campaign as employers. In 2024, we supported associations with 250,000 euros through the Summer Jobs Paid for by OP campaign.
